Quests Needednone

Starting Location: The Lighthouse North of the Barbarian Outpost

  1. First you must go to the lighthouse which can be found north of the Barbarian agility course, or west of Rellekka. Find and speak to Larrissa to start. Her boyfriend runs the lighthouse along the dangerous coast line, but he's been missing for some days and the front door is locked so no one can get in to fix the light. Also Larrissa is stranded due to a storm knocking out the bridge.

  2. Go to the barbarian agility course by jumping across the basalt rock pillars south of the lighthouse. You'll need to do the Barcrawl if you haven't already to get into the Barbarian outpost and then into the agility course. Talk to Gunnjorn and he'll give you the key.

  3. Now you need 2 planks from the plank spawn north of the outpost and 8 nails. You can make the nails or buy them. The easiest place to make them is probably Rellekka if you've done the Fremennik trials quest. There is a coal mine in the town and iron to the east of the town, as well as a forge and anvil.

  4. Now head west of Rellekka to the broken bridge, you can jump over it but Larrissa isn't quite as agile. Use a plank on each side of the bridge. Now you can enter the lighthouse. Bring swamp tar, a tinderbox, some molten glass.

  5. The lowest floor of the lighthouse has a spiral stair going up and an iron ladder going down. Go up to the next floor and search the book case, take all three books. The lighthouse manual tells you what you need to fix the lighthouse (with the swamp tar, tinderbox, and glass). Jossik's diary reveals his growing affection for Larrissa and the long lonely days he spends at the lighthouse. Apparently he was forced by the RuneScape council to take over the job when his uncle vanished from there. The ancient diary seems to be Jossik's uncle's and is an incoherent rambling about a 'door' and a creature called the 'Dagannoth'.

  6. Use the tar, then the tinderbox, and then the molten glass to repair the light house. Now you need to focus on finding Jossik. Bring one of each element rune, a sword (make sure its one you can afford to lose), and an arrow. Now go down the ladder, make sure you are standing east of it or it won't let you go down. Use the items on the "strange wall" and you'll fill in the patterns. (but you'll lose those items so don't stick a rune arrow and a dragon long into the wall). Go through the door next to the wall and down the ladder. You'll now be in an underground chamber with Jossik, he's been taken by strange monsters.

  7. One of the Dagannoths (level 100) will attack you when you talk to Jossik, defeat it and talk to Jossik again. He'll tell you that was only one of the monster's babies! A Mother Dagannoth will come out of the pool and attack you. The mother is only vulnerable to the color of the attack on the door at any given time. Red means she can be attacked with fire spells, white with air, brown with earth, and blue with water. When she is yellow you can attack her with melee and when she is green you can use ranged. She attacks with her bite and she throws spines at you meaning you can only defend against one attack at a time.

  8. You will now have completed the quest. Take the casket you got from the Mother Dagannoth to the second floor of the lighthouse. Talk to Jossik and he'll ask you what the casket says (this decides what kind of reward you get). Pick your god accordingly and you'll get the reward.
